Our mission is to ensure the welfare of the Kyanuna children and their village. Under the direction of Mwanje Patrick, we are working to provide safe shelter, food, clothes, shoes, health care, education, and the tools for a sustainable future. We fight the causes of deprivation and work to find solutions to the injustices that plague rural communities.
Kyanuna is a village (about ~40 families) located in the north-central region of Uganda (northwest of Kampala). It’s geographical coordinates are 0° 33′ 0″ North, 32° 14′ 0″ East.
It is now home to over 100 impoverished children and elders, many of whom are orphans. The parents of these children are either seriously ill or have died from malnutrition, diseases, and other hardship causes. The sick must walk many miles to seek government hospitals. Without any money for education, the children that do survive often resort to strenuous farm work, work in dangerous mines, or in the oil fields.
